Pushpin 2.4.2 and Mid/Mif files

I import shapes using Mid/Mif files.

Problem is, if a Mid/Mif file has multiple shapes, the Pushpin tool only imports the first series. Such as lots of islands or parks related to counties may have 30 or 40 embedded shapes. Only the first one is imported.

I can edit the Mid/Mif file multiple times to bring in all of the shapes, but that is a bit of a pain.

Is there a correction I can make? Or, does 2.4.2 need to be written to accommodate this situation?

Thanx,

John

Re: Pushpin 2.4.2 and Mid/Mif files

I wasn't aware that the Pushpin Tool imported mif/mid.

We use microsoft's Spatial Data Importer and I have modified versions of that for doing various things, but it has involved a lot of custom programming over the years.

I did hear about a tool from Visimation recently that might be what you need,

hope this helps,
Eric

Re: Pushpin 2.4.2 and Mid/Mif files

The next version of MPSuperShape will import MID files:

Importing ESRI .shp files

It is much more flexible than the Spatial Data Importer, but for data points it only imports the locations. The MID file is not used, so the names are not available.
