I'm sure the answer to my question would be apparent if I could get the trial version of mp 2002, but MS cancelled my order when they stopped making the 2002 trial available.
Let me say this first. I don't know anything about MapPoint except that it sounds like it'll do what I want. I have a client who is interested in a solution that will allow them to simply type in a street address and a bit of additional information so that every time a competitor performs a job around town, a color-coded (by competitor) pushpin is placed on a local map at that address with the appropriate data assigned to it. The nature of the business is such that all this information is public.
They do this now, more or less, with an actual giant paper street map and real pushpins. They want to be able to do it digitally so they can export the data, share the maps, and archive the information.
Will MapPoint do the job? Does it offer users the ability to simply type in data for new pushpins? If not, I assume it's easy enough to type the data in Excel, or through a web form into SQL server, and then import that data into MapPoint?
Sorry for the elementary questions. I wouldn't have asked if I could get my hands on a trial. Thanks in advance for your help.

P
