question about MapPoint

Hi,

I have a delivery managment system and I want to intgrate a map software. The idea is that when the user brings up a delivery he/she can click on a button to display a map with the direction using the company's post code and the customer's post code.
Do I need to get MapPoint for this or is there any cheaper option.

I need to use it with Delphi and in the UK market.

Thanks

Nas

I think you should buy MapPoint (2002 or 2004)...

Then you would program a heavy client that would geocode the adresses...

MapPoint has a COM interface, so you could "popup" a MapPoint application window, or use it as an OCX control encapsulated in one of your dialogs.
Either way, you will need to distribute MapPoint with your application (or insist the user already has it installed).

I'm not a Delphi user, but I hear of people using it with MapPoint.

There is a European edition of MapPoint. The UK bit seems to have the best coverage - and there's even support for OSGB Grid References.

Thanks for the quick reply. From what I have read about MapPoints is that it's a very advanced package, but all I need it for is to display the directions in a map format. My users won't pay the amount of money MapPoint costs which is according to amazon is about £250.
I am just thinking if there is a cheaper alternative?

What about Streets & Trips would it do the job?

Thanks

Nas
