When you want to make a map, based on an excel sheet it imports the information correctly. Eg. you see the Netherlands with the areas you want to see. But on the map the major cities of the Netherlands are always displayed while I am only interested in regions. How do I get rid of these names of the cities

You cannot remove information on the map. You can however set the font or so very small to get rid of it more or less depending on the altitude you set.
