    Resizing / Reorienting maps

I have created two maps of Europe that are linked to data. The country outlines show up with different colors depending on growth rates for the selected period. No problem there.

Now, I want to insert the maps into a PPT slideshow. I do not want to take the full screen image, but rather a cropped image. This causes me two problems:

    1. Is there a way I can specify (with great precision) the zoom? I can, of course, copy the map into PPT and use the Picture Toolbar and the crop tool, but that gets tedious!

    2. The two maps are obviously very similar, but somehow I got one rotated a bit. How can I align the maps so that the orientation is the same? The difference is fairly noticable when I transition from one slide to the next.

    hodag,

If you draw a rectangle with the drawing tools and copy and paste that rectangle to another map, it will be drawn on the same coordinates.
You could follow that line for cropping your images.

Thanks for the reply. That might help, but I think I need to recreate the maps from a default view for that to work as the rectangle is just a rectangle. It would be nice if MP let you specify a zoom and the lat-long coordianates for the corners. Alas, it would appear that this release doesn't do that.

    Re: Resizing / Reorienting maps

Not this time I am afraid, I am only an occassional user of MP and just need the two slides! I did what was suggested above, rubber banded a rectangle and redid the maps from a default Europe view, and pasted a whole Europe map into PPT. Then, using the crop, resize, and position tools in PPT, I was able to get two identical maps into my presentation. If I had to do it frequently I probably would hire you so that I could keep my sanity!

    Thanks for the help.
