    Yes, it's not supported feature of MapPoint (desktop), but people have figured out how to do this.

    Check out the articles with "reverse geocoding" in the name at

    Hi Eric,
    I looked at site searched for reverse geocode and looked at athe articles that came up.
    From what i understand these articles assume you know the latitude and longitude of the location.

    In my case, you randomly add pushpin to some location of which you do not know the latitude and longitude. Click on the mappoint and add a pushpin.

    Thanks in Advance

    Latitude and Longitude properties

    What version of MapPoint are you using?

    Assuming MapPoint 2006 or later, there are Latitude and Longitude properties of the Location object for the Pushpin that you can use to get the lat/lon.

    Re: Retrieve address from pushpin on a map

    HI Eric,

    I am using Mapoint 2009.

    Please correct me if i am wrong:

    To get the lat/lon values, i need to specify te location right. I do not have the location info. I am trying to retrieve the location info from the lat/lon

    In the mappoint help this is what he has given to retrieve the lat/lon information

    Set objLoc = objMap.FindAddressResults("1 Microsoft Way", "Redmond", "WA")(1)

    'Get latitude of this location
    dblLat = objLoc.Latitude

    Re: Retrieve address from pushpin on a map

    Can you reference the Pushpin as an object?

    From there you can get the associated Location object and the Lat / Lon.

    This is not exactly the code you want, it is the example in the Help file.

    But: it shows how to reference the Pushpin's location object --

    Code:
    Sub UsePushpinLocation()

      Dim objApp As New MapPoint.Application
      Dim objMap As MapPoint.Map
      Dim objPin As MapPoint.Pushpin

      'Set up the application
      Set objMap = objApp.ActiveMap
      objApp.Visible = True
      objApp.UserControl = True

      'Add a Pushpin to the map
      Set objPin = objMap.AddPushpin(objMap.FindResults("Seattle, WA")(1))

      'Use the Pushpin location to add a shape
      objMap.Shapes.AddShape geoShapeOval, objPin.Location, 200, 300

    End Sub
