route to file

Hello everybody,
I would like to know if there is a way to turn a mappoint route into a list of coordinates to be saved into a txt file.
Every couple of coordinates should be at a certain distance from the previous couple.
Thank you very much for your help,

Giacomo from Italy

Re: route to file

Not very easily.
The problem is that MapPoint exposes very little location information. Most of the locations are for 'ideal views' - and may not even be on the route!

The best approach I've found works if you are using "shortest" (rather than "fastest") routes, and if the travel times are unimportant. Set all road speeds to be very slow. Then set rest breaks to be every X minutes. X gives your distance between locations (using the speed you chose).
Then export the rest stop locations using some custom programming, or using our RouteWriter product: http://www.routewriter.com
