I am pulling what is left of my hair out over this one...

So - to aid in my tasks...

could someone PLEASE post a COMPLETE sample of a win form application that uses the OCX (activex) control and have it load a map???

i've been trying the blog solution - but there just seems to be too many missing parts for me to assimilate the procedures...

But, just start a new project, reference and add the MapPoint control, then do something like this: (axMap is the MapPoint ActiveX)

Code:

axMap.NewMap(MapPoint.GeoMapRegion.geoMapNorthAmerica);
axMap.ActiveMap.Location = axMap.ActiveMap.GetLocation(36.39394, -105.28393, 0);

I really have no idea of the *proper* way to go about it, as I struggled myself until I got something to work. It does work, though.

on a fluke - i re-installed mappoint,
and it is working now
