Schedule Stop Times

I have around 40 stops.

I Scheduled the Start time for 9:00 Am

I Scheduled One of the stops for 9:10 Am.

When I Do optimize route it does not get me to the stop at 9:10. It gets there 9:45 and it says warning missed schedule.

IS There any way to correct this.

All of the stops are in the same 10 block area. it just doesn't go to that stop before other stops when i optimize the stops.

It just ignores the scheduled time when Optimizing Stops.

From Mappoint Help File:
Quote:
When you optimize stops on your route, MapPoint reorders the intermediate stops on your route so that your travel time between the start and end points is the most time-efficient.
I think this means that Mappoint chooses the most efficient route without regard to the scheduled time.

Why are you optimizing your stops if you already have the order set?

MapPoint doesn't respect time-windows when optimizing. For this reason I have done my own optimization-algorithm based on MapPoint. If you are interested I can send you the exe.

Cheers
Rainer

I Only have scheduled the stops not all hundred stops.

Can you send me your source code, Rainer? Please.

Also interested in exe for time sensitive optimization

Rainier,
If you are inclined, I would be interested to see how you incorporated the time windows into optimization for a route.

Please reply with a means to download or share your exe.

Thanks

Hi,

I have developed a program for these problems which you can download from www.free-routing.com. It is not an Add-in for MapPoint but will integrate MapPoint via automation. The code for optimization doesnt use MapPoint optimization but does some 2-opt, 3-opt steps as it is described in the literature (and respects time-windows). The distances will be calculated by MapPoint and stored in a database for further use. So there is no simple source code but many lines of code which is difficult to understand. So there is no sense in publishing the code in the moment. But I am thinking about making an open-source project out of it (not only freeware).

Cheers
Rainer
