View Full Version : MPSuperShape: Manipulate shapes

03-24-2009, 11:08 AM
MPSuperShape is an add-in for MapPoint that helps with shape manipulation, and has a growing list of import/export options.

MPSuperShape was originally envisaged as a "Swiss army knife" for the manipulation of MapPoint shapes. It can combine shapes with the Union operation. It can find overlaps with the Intersection operation. And it can calculate boundaries and envelopes (Convex Hulls) around pushpins with the Boundary operation. This latter operation can also expand the resulting shape by a set amount, to produce a "territory shape" that encloses the pushpins.

MPSuperShape also has a number of import / export options. It can currently import ESRI Shape (SHP) files; MapInfo MIF files; Google/Keyhole KML files; and its own GML schema.

MPSuperShape can currently export shapes and pushpins to: Google/Keyhole KML files; its own GML schema; a Virtual Earth webpage (HTML); and a Google Maps webpage (HTML).

Further import/export options are under active development.

MPSuperShape licenses cost US$75 each. Discounts are available for purchases of 5+.
