I just paid for the PushPin Tool via Pay Pal. I recieved an email from PayPal with a "receipt number". This number appears to be in the format required by the unlock code within the trial version of the tool but does not work. I get an "Incorrect Unlock Code" error.

I have to say, for $75.00 I would appreciate at least an automated email with instructions on how to install and register the product I just bought.

The only help link on the product page points to a forum thread thats been dead since 2006.

Does anyone here know how to register this product?

I assume you bought it from MP2KMag? Pushpin Tool has a number of resellers - including myself, but I don't see you in my records (I also email out instructions!).

You have to run Pushpin Tool and get the customer code from this and send it to your vendor. This is tied to your hardware. The vendor will then create a registration code and send it to you.

He did buy from us... and I sent him the unlock code within an hour after the order. We should have clear instructions that it is a manual activation process and it takes a little time. (Could take longer if I'm sleeping or on an overseas flight!) I'll have to work on it.

Update: I got an email about 45 minutes or so after paying and had the reg code about an hour or so later.

This is sort of a lumpy reg process but I'm happy. I buy a decent amount of software online and I guess I have gotten used to everything being instant.

Bill: Yes as a vendor, I think I agree with you! Our in-house products use an automated key generation process. Less admin for me and you get what you want quicker.

Haha, well, I guess if you had to stretch to find a way to defend our archaic process it forces a little customer touch so we establish a business relationship. But it probably just annoys people.
