I am seeking information concerning updates to the MapPoint 2009 software. For how many years will Microsoft provide street/construction updates to this software?

Should be several years.. note that they are just updating which roads have contruction so on the route you can see if there are any construction warnings. You do not get new streets.

Thank you. Our company has a database of contacts and we are evaluating using Microsoft Virtual Earth (via ASP.Net) on our intranet vs. installing MapPoint. We have to see how the money would be better spent. Having to pay $8,000 per year for Virtual Earth seems steep--especially in light of the fact that there is no way that we will come close to the million transaction limit. A Virtual Earth reseller like EPIDirect may be our best option.

They have a lower entry-level price now in the BizSpark program, you might see if that is applicable for you. --
