Hi
Anyone know where, online, I can copy a vertical list of all towns and cities in the UK?
I tried Royal Mail website but their list is horizontal and not in alphabetical order.
I need a vertical list ( alphabetical or not, it doesn't matter) that I can cut and paste to an exc el file.
Thank you.

These 3 links provide Census definitions of settlements plus population so you can choose your own cut-off point. However the tables are nested which means you have to do some manipulation.

England & Wales
KS01 Usual resident population: Census 2001, Key Statistics for urban areas (http://www.statistics.gov.uk/StatBase/ssdataset.asp?vlnk=8271&Pos=2&ColRank=1&Rank=224)

Scotland
General Register Office for Scotland - Reports and Data - Key Stats for Settlements and Localities Scotland (http://www.gro-scotland.gov.uk/census/censushm/scotcen2/reports-and-data/scotcen8.html)

NI
Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency - Census - Census2001 Output - ks_settlements (http://www.nisranew.nisra.gov.uk/census/Census2001Output/KeyStatistics/ks_settlements.html)

Alternatively here is another useful resource listing towns more than 20,000 population
Major Cities and Agglomerations in the United Kingdom (http://www.citypopulation.de/UK.html)

Canít vouch for its accuracy though.
