Dear All,

I am new to mapping technology. So I have now a problem here is that say I have a base point with a lat and long value. So I want to find out if I have another point is it within the radius of 50m from my base point. What is the formula must I use ? Thank you.

The Aviation Formulary is your friend for this kind of geometry calculation:

Dear Richard,

Well it is a good site thank you for it. Now I am overwhelm with too much of information and I cant make decision which to pick either. Another scenario I have here is that I have multiple lat and long values joint together to make a polygon either triangle, rectangle etc. So which is the best formula to decide if a particulat lat and long is in the triangle?

Hi,

to find out if a certain point is in a triangle you have to check some of the articles in this forum. I think there are at least 2 of them with different methods. Please try a search here.
