View Full Version : MapPoint SQL Server Spatial Add-in

I installed this on machine with MapPoint 2009 but not SQL Server 2008 (it has SQL Server 7.0 installed).

I just wanted to look at the interface and see if there's a help file or documentation.

It installs fine and it shows up in the Tools menu in MapPoint 2009.

However, when I click on it nothing happens. Actually the SQL Server add-in disappears on the Tools menu and it is now unchecked in the Add-ins dialog.

Any ideas? I guess I can put it on another computer with SQL Server 2008.

Eric,

Can you tell me the OS (with service pack version) and processor that you installed the add-in on? When an add-in disappears during activation there is often a missing dependency or other issue causing the .dll load to fail. When this happens, the hosting application normally removes it from its UI.

Thanks,

XP and 32-bit... should be simple, but is SQL Server Spatial necessary on the machine or is there a place(log) I can check to see what happened?

I was able to download the presentation and the powerpoint slide... not through the initial URL but by searching.

Search for "MapPoint" and sort by Date --

Check your email. I've sent you a program that will help troubleshoot the problem.

You shouldn't need to install SQL Server 2008 for the add-in to work.
