Hi

When I try to import excel files into MapPoint using the wizard I get the following message. " There was an unexpected problem during this operation. Class not registered"

I just purchased MapPoint and install it when this happened. I you have any info on how to fix this it would be appreciated.

Thanks

I've gotten that too with MapPoint 2001. I ended up uninstalling the program and reinstalling it which seems to fix it. Not sure what caused the problem in the first place. Not a great way to fix a problem, but it worked.

For anyone who may encounter this problem this is how I fixed it. I downloaded the following updates and rebooted the computer in safe mode and installed them. I have Window 98.

Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.6 SP2 (2.62.7400.1) Download Page<http://www.microsoft.com/data/download_26sp2.htm>

Microsoft Jet 4.0 Service Pack 3 Download Page
<http://www.microsoft.com/data/download_Jet4SP3.htm>

Hope this is helpful to someone

Try fix Excel (http://www.recoverytoolbox.com/repair_excel.html), it able recover data after viruses, problems with media (a hard drive failure, a corrupted CD or DVD, etc.), errors in transferring the file via the LAN or the Internet, etc, will display a dialog box with the question whether this worksheet should actually be scanned.

Hi,

What could help is to register it manually:

MapPoint.exe /registerserver

Also did you hit 'accept' on the licence form ? If you don't you have similar faults.
