Can the routine Public Sub ExportPOIs() be adapetd to export specific points of interest from an active MapPoint Europe 2009 map?

I could be adapted to do that... when you say specific, do you mean a specific POI or a specific area?

I would like to select an area In MapPoint Europe 2009 using polygon and then select specific POIs within that area

I think this would be difficult.. first you would need to extract all the POI's and put them in a database.

If you re-imported them into MapPoint, then you could use QueryPolygon, however, I think it's would be very slow and possibly not work at all, because it would be hundreds of thousands or millions of POI's.

It would be better to have some routine that would export your polygon's coordinates to a database, and then do the point-in-poly operation within the database. This is not trivial code.

In total, I think it would be eight to twelve hours of work, maybe more. How badly do you want this feature? :-)

Not that badly Eric! It's a straightforward query in MapInfo assuming you have all the points in a database. Howabout if specific ones were loaded e.g. ATMs would they export to Excel from a polygon?

I think you can only access the POI's using a radius. But if you exported all the ATM POI's and then imported them as Pushpins, that might work !!
