I can open up Autoroute files in MapPoint 2009 without problems but is it possible to save a version back into a file that Autoroute can open?

No, Mappoint cannot save in a file format openable by AutoRoute. However, depending on what exactly you try to accomplish, you could export data from MP, and then import it to AutoRoute. The new 2010 version of both products include new GPX file import/export functionality.

How about opening MP 2009 files in AutoRoute 2010? I didn't find a possibilty to do so. Also, importing/exporting doesn't seem to be possible. What advice can you give, please?
