I'm wondering if there are any mapping platforms out there that will allow their map to run on a paid commercial application. I know both Google and Bing require that applications using their maps be freely available to the public. I'm not sure about OpenLayers. Any ideas?

Google Maps and Bing Maps are both commercial products. If you want to use them in a commercial application, you have to pay monthly subscription fees. Seems fair to me.


OpenLayers is open source. So yes you can use it in a commercial application but you might want to check the license regarding source code and copyright messages.
