Hello,

First, I apologize for my English, because I use an automatic translator because I speak very little English.

I'm new to MapPoint and I have two questions for you.

1. I would like to define a catchment area from the number of people and not based on driving time. Do you know a ploy to get this information?

2. On representations of data, I would like to display the value of the series on the map. Currently, I can not display the numbers directly on this representation. How do I do?

Thank you in advance for your help

Cordially

Sorry it was over the Holidays. How far have you gotten so far in creating your map?

You can display data values with either labels you could add to the map from the drawing menu or programmatically.

Or you could create pushpins and display balloons. If you want to display a single row of data (the balloon with several rows is often too big) you can show "Name Only". This can also be done programmatically.

I'm not sure what you mean by the catchment area or how it would be defined. I assume you mean a trade area for a retail location, or what?

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

Indeed, I would like to define a catchment area from my store. How do I draw a catchment area based on a number of people.

Thank you in advance for your reply.

PS: I'm French, you do not speak French by chance? :)

Do you have the people's locations or addresses?

Eric

PS: I am a turtle and thus only speak the turtle language.

Hello,

I need help :) I am trying to map territories in MapPoint 2011. I would like to map states and provinces in the US and Canada, but some of the territories are split - for example, I need to split Ontario, Canada to show Northern Ontario as one territory, and Southern Ontario as a separate territory, while still mapping entire states and provinces as well.

Please help, I have been making myself crazy trying to figure it out!!

Kind regards,
Tara

You would not be able to split it using Provinces to build the Territories.

Is there a smaller level of geography an equivalent to a county level in the U.S.?

Otherwise I would recommend to just use the Drawing Toolbar and put Freeforms on the map.

Thank you, Eric. Unfortunately the county option doesn't work for me. If I use the Drawing toolbar and freeform the territory, is there a way to allow the province name to show through? So far I have only been able to get it to shade opaque, which completely covers the province name, etc.

Right click on the shape and for the Order, send it behind the roads. Does this help?
