Hi.
I hope somebody can help me. I'm building a simple DBase in Access with routes. I created a query that showes my daily route based on locations table. When I try to link to it from Map Point I do not see my query as one of the choices. Any ideas? I'm using Map Point 2001.
Gets even more interesting. Sometime I see my query and when I link to it , it does not work. Map Point is mapping all my Locations. The query does work, I can export it into Excel and then Map Point will map it from Excel. Please help, I'm running out of ideas and I have to go back to my boss with finished DBase soon.
Thank you
Barb

Hello, Barb:
After reading your post, I did a test. This is what I did:
1. Create a database by using MS-Access, and create a Query;
2. Create a UDL file to link the access database: I think maybe you already knew how to create a UDL file: create a blank file(any type is fine), then rename it as .UDL type;
3. Adjust a UDL property: right click the file -> Properties; goto "provider" and select Microsoft Jet OLE DB provider; goto "connection" to select your database, if it has password, input it; don't forget to test it :)
4. After that, you can link the query to mappoint by using Link Data Wizard, and it's done.

I am using OfficeXP and Mappoint 2002, so hopefully, this is workable on mappoint2001.
Hoping it is helpful.
Good Luck.
