We need to be able to isolate a particular area of our map by a geographic measurement such as zip code or radius and then optimize stops and request directions for just that area of our map. Is this possible?

The idea is to use one "master" map and plan daily routes by isolating the area we wish to cover on any particular day and plan our route by optimizing within that specific area.

Why not just create a map with stops from just the area of interest?

Or are you wanting to do it automatically, eg. "add all pushpins in this area as waypoints"?

This could be done programmatically, but for the zipcode search, the pushpins would need to have zipcode information set (ie. coordinates only, would not be good enough).

The "area of interest" will change on a daily basis. We would like to use a "master" map and each morning we would highlight or isolate (in some way) the particular geographic area that we want to work in. Each marker would represent a business in that geographic area and we would only be visiting those businesses that day; so, we only want to optimize those stops and print directions to get between those specific stops. We don't want to have to take the time to create a new map each day as we plan our routes.

This would be a map that is linked to a spreadsheet and as we add or delete businesses in the spreadsheet, the map would automatically update the markers accordingly. Each marker would represent a buisness and a potential client or client referral source.
