I am a new MapPoint user, having just purchased MapPoint 2011 to mostly use for territory mapping.

I am creating a territory map using Zip Codes. I have every Zip Code represented because there are no missing matches when I run the data.

The program is adding territory borders around large bodies of water within territories - i.e. Lakes, Rivers, Reservoirs. So when the map is drawn with colors, there are black blotches that look like missing data. When you zoom in, you realize the blotches represent bodies of water, however I'll be using the map as a view of the United States, so the dark areas appear to be missing information.

I can not figure out how to eliminate the dark borders.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Is there a way to do this? Or is it a glitch in the software?

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Can you post a screenshot and / or sample PTM file?
