View Full Version : Creating territories or zones to extract numbers from my datapoints

I am new to Map Point and need some help. I have imported my address data into map point successfully. What I am trying to do is break down the addresses in the city of Calgary into zones where I pull the number of addresses in that specific zone. Whne I right mouse click it only allows me to select the area as a square block / area not by main streets or communities to get the numbers of people in that area. Can Mappoint do this and if so how?
I would appreciate any help on this.

email me if need be djclark@golder.com

Hi and Welcome to the forums! I hope you get up to speed with MapPoint smoothly and quickly.

If I understand you correctly, here's one way to tackle it.

Turn on the Drawing Toolbar if it is not already.

Then using the "Freeform" tool, trace around the area you wish to export. Make sure the freeform polygon is closed by right-clicking on the freeform and close it.

Then you can right-click on the polygon and select "Export to Excel".

Let me know if this helps you accomplish what you wish to do!
