He all,

I work in an office and put sales data onto MapPoint. I would like to show them maps over a projector on a different computer with all the funcitonality (information pops up). If I send it as an image or web page it is simply just that. Does anyone have any fixes other than buying an entirely new license?

Hi Jake,

Do you have the retail version that requires activation?

I believe the end user license agreement specifically says you can install on one desktop and one mobile device such as a laptop, so your one license might cover it.

Also, I don't have experience with this, but some people have told me that the retail version (which requires activation) actually lets you install on up to three computers before it makes you call in to Microsoft's support line. I'm not sure about that of course, but it might be worth just trying to install and activate it and see what happens.

Let us know how it goes!

Eric

Thanks, I'll start reading the EULA and see what happens.

Another approach might be to use some desktop sharing software such as LogMeIn or TeamViewer to remotely view and use your own own computer from the presentation computer. Graphics can be slow over a shared desktop connection, but if the computers are together on a LAN or over a high speed connection it would probably be just as fast as if it was installed on the computer.

It installed in both places, and appears to be working now. I'll load some maps on each later today, but so far I have the program (activated) in the Laptop and Desktop. Thanks

Awesome thanks for the followup and look forward to discussing more MapPoint with you in the forums!
