Hi all.

I have a C# application that uses a MapPoint 2011 control. I want to programmatically stop it from displaying Points / Places of Interest.

Anyone know how to do that?

The collection is called PlaceCategories.
Just set each item to Visible = false.

Yeah, you can't disable the possibility in the interface, but you certainly could put what Michael Mattys said in the code and keep making sure they are all turned off :-)

I'm using the 2010 control in C#, and don't get POI showing.

Might you be able to turn off the related toolbar with code like this (setting visible to false of course!)?

Don

object TOOLBAR_LOCATIONSCALE = 4;
MPC.NewMap(MapPoint.GeoMapRegion.geoMapNorthAmeric a);
MPC.ActiveMap.MapStyle = MapPoint.GeoMapStyle.geoMapStyleRoadData;
MPC.Toolbars.get_Item(ref TOOLBAR_LOCATIONSCALE).Visible = true;
