We have an application that is utilizing the MapPoint 2010 for North America API from a C# program. This program works everywhere just fine, with the exception of our Quebec colleagues that have PC's with the French language version of XP. The error we get implies that MapPoint is not installed.
The research we have done so far indicates that if we change the language on the PC from French to English the problems goes away. It does, however this is an unacceptable solution. The other "fix" we have found involves exporting the current registry settings and changing all of the references containing "17" to "16". This two works, however, changing the registry is too complex for our environment.
Is there a known bug in MapPoint 2010 for North America when installed on a French operating system?

There used to be a problem, you can probably find the threads by searching this forum. There was an odd error such as "MapPoint 2005 does not exist" but in French, however there was never a MapPoint 2005 version, so that was a little crazy.

I'd be a little surprised if the same issue still exists with MapPoint 2010, but on the other hand, maybe not that surprised.

What is the exact issue or error you are seeing?
