View Full Version : Add pushpin icon when showing in Bing?

Hey everyone. I'm hoping this is a simple thing. I haven't worked with MP in awhile and recently was given the job of adding a feature. We have a program (in VB.NET) that uses MP. I've been asked if it's possible when a PushPin is right-clicked and the user selects "Show in Bing Maps", is there a way to have that map show a default Pushpin in the browser? Right now the map shows the correct location (roughly). But I was wondering if there was a way to show that location with the pushpin.

Thank you in advance for any and all help/suggestions/idea's/tutorial/links that you can provide. All help is very much appreciated.

Hi and welcome back to the forums!

I'd recommend to start here --

Bing Maps Developer Resources: Map SDKs, APIs, Tips, Training (http://www.microsoft.com/maps/developers/web.aspx)

The interactive SDK is fun and really useful --

Bing Maps AJAX Control 7.0 ISDK (http://www.bingmapsportal.com/isdk/ajaxv7)

I think one thing you might consider is to write out an HTML file with javascript and coordinates of the pushpin you want to add, and then open the html file for the user. This is the way I would approach it.
