Hi again ;),

Is there a way to extract the Information from a saved .ptm file into a .txt file from code?

My Problem:
After saving a .ptm Mapfile, i want to open that map with all the parameters I setup in the wizard, such like:

- Datamaptype
- Fielddelimiter
- Ranges (Logarithmic or not)
a.so. ...

the only dynamic value should be the Data which i want to show on my Datamap, because that Data will change often.

At the moment it works like that:
I call the ShowImportWizard(), Importing all my necessary data, then call the
ShowDataMappingWizard(), after the routine i get a beautiful map wich shows all the data i want.
Now I need to save that map, and after a few Months i want to open the saved map but with the actual Data i got from my Database, without calling the 2 wizards again !!!

Are there any solutions for that problem? Or any good ideas how to get it work?

best regards
xonji

Hi xonji,

Search this forum for 'DisplayDataMap' - you'll find exactly what you want.

There is not.. but one thing you might look into is using a Linked Dataset.

That way you don't need to go through the wizards again, you can just refresh the linked data set.

I didn't found a Method for refreshing the DataSet in Code, only the possibility to "right Click" and refresh.

are there any possibilities?
