Thanks to a new operating system "enhancement" I've lost the ability to create 24"x36" maps.

My usual workflow was to create the map, print to an .mdi file using the Microsoft Office Document Image Writer, make any edits, then print to PDF.

Apparently this option is no longer available to 64 bit users:
Document Image Writer print driver included in MS Office 2007? - MS Office Support (http://forums.techarena.in/ms-office-support/955593.htm)

Anyone in the same boat, and if so, any workarounds to get the same end product? Thanks for any suggestions.

Mike A.,

I don't have the answer to MODI 64-bit.
However, I can support your PDF map need.
Send your map to me.
If you like the map, we can come to an agreement on future PDF maps or images.
No charge for this first map, no risk at all.

Just to be fair, I looked it up myself. Hope it helps (my maps are still better)

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind.

I did just figure out how to create a custom-sized .xps template, which I can then print to and create a PDF, so that solves the immediate problem. Hopefully there's a way to set a high quality level too.
