View Full Version : Is it possible to change the Pushpin hover pop-up?

In MapPoint if you click a pushpin so it is highlighted than doubleclick it you will have a balloon of whatever you fields you populate by right clicking in the legend and selecting those fields.

However I am concerned about the hover over text that displays the Legend title and info that created the legend. Is there anyway to change or add data to this.

We have a map with 100,000 points and we have to hover over many really quickly to determine which route each is on. For some reason I having trouble importing these points by route, the route number is inputed as a 3 digit zip code and the data import wizard trying multipin import breaks up the multipin by customer number sorted by address throwing quite a few points out of sync. It won't let me import for some reason by route.

If I could change the hover over pop-up to add a couple fields the real concern would be taken care of.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Short answer: No.
In the API, there are some mouse events but there isn't a "hover" event. Also such a custom system would be very slow if you have so much data.

I'm not sure what you mean by "multi-pin import by route". As I don't understand, I could be wrong, but it sounds a bit like something our MPRouteReader ( http://www.routewriter.com ) product can do: Create routes from pushpins in a pre-determined order. The order is specified with one of the data fields that is read. It can also work with "groups". so you use another data field to specify the route, and MPRouteReader can produce a route from a 'group' of pins. Overlaps are fine - eg. you might want the same start pin for all routes. There's a free 14 day trial, so it might be worth trying? Apologies if this isn't what you're after.
