This article takes an optimistic view of the soon to be released Windows 8 tablets coming to dominate the mobile computing landscape --

Android Analyse - Why Eric Schmidt is wrong about Apple-Android being the defining fight (http://www.androidanalyse.com/why-eric-schmidt-is-wrong-about-apple-android-being-the-defining-fight/)

"All the apps that matter to most users (and virtually all businesses) can be run on Windows just fine, thanks (in fact most exclusively run on Windows). So why have an Android tablet and an Android phone, plus a Windows laptop and / or PC. Why not just have the one device to rule them all? At the very least, Windows 8 stands poised to decimate Android tablet sales overnight. "

What do you think?

I totally agree! Windows 8 is the dark horse when it comes to mobile OS. But MS's marketing is so terrible that they can't get their big selling points (like massive, out-of-the-box software compatibility) in front of people. They have those lame commercials with a bunch of people break-dancing with their tablet. People will catch on soon, though.

I'm curious if they do.

I was originally thrown off by the $1,200 entry point for a Windows app compatible Surface tablet, but I should look into what's available now and see how well MapPoint works.
