View Full Version : Pushpin vs Multiple symbol problem

10-16-2012, 06:21 PM

I am using MapPoint 2011.

I have a ton of addresses for many different routes. All addresses are updated from a data link spreadsheet that is updated daily.

Routes are different monday through friday. This delivery day information is in a column.

Each route is a pushpin in MapPoint. As a pushpin I can hide pushpins and move them around to fix when they do not map correctly. Unfortunately all the pushpins for a route, including the different days, are 1 color which makes it hard to plan routing.

If I change the map type on the Pushpin set to a Multiple symbol and then select delivery day Mappoint breaks the route up by delivery day and I can set each a different color.

When I convert the pushpin set to a multiple symbol data set I can now no longer move points on the map nor can I right-click and hide the sets that I do not want to see.

Is there a way to make a multiple symbol pushpin set that can be able to move points and hide/show?
Is there a better way to accomplish what I am attempting?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
