I have a need for MapPoint to be able to display the names of lakes on its maps. Is there a way to get MapPoint to do this? I'm new to the product and haven't been able to figure this out.
Thanks for any help in this

You could put a pushpin on the lake with the name of the pushpin being the name of the lake - or - just use use a textbox.

I don't know the lake names - and need to get them included on what is displayed. I was hpoing the data lived in MapPoint somewhere and only needed to somehow be configured to display.

AFAIK there is nothing you can configure or otherwise do to get the names displayed, sorry.

I guess most are in the US version as well (at least the ones I checked) but there must be some lakes that don't have the name showing (maybe some smaller ones?) Either way, there is no way of showing/not showing names of lakes so if itsw not marked you would have to mark it your-self.
rbone which lakes are you talking about?

I have received the complete list of lakes from the state of Wisconsin, with no lat/lon data. I need to associate businesses nearby with the lakes. I have the lat/lon for each of the businesses, but when I go to the points in MapPoint, there is no lake name associated with the lakes closest to the businesses. I have several thousand lakes and over one thousand businesses to map. YIKES!
If you want to see the lakes I am referring to, click on WI, near Eagle River, and you will see lots of lakes with no names.
Thanks for continuing to help me with this.
