.Net frame work ??

hello all,
i downloaded MapPointWebServiceSDK35.exe, extracted and ran setup. so it gave me error ".Net frame work is not install on my m/c. do u wnat to download it". i clicked yes and it took me to this url : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=9B3A2CA6-3647-4070-9F41-A333C6B9181D&displaylang=en
from where i downloaded setup.exe now when i run this setup i get error that .Net Frame work is not install. it only allows me to install the docs for .Net.
can anyone pl. tell me from where to get .Net frame work download. where am i going wrong.

Install this file (dotnetfx.exe) before installing the SDK. How are you going to program in the SDK if you do not have visual studio?

You do not need Visual Studio to program .NET. The SKD provides the underlying framework. You technically only need a text editor and some knowledge of the SDK. Howver, VS makes it MUCH easier to develop .NET apps than the raw SDK. There is an open source tool called SharpDevelop that provides a very nice IDE for developing C# apps. You can find it at the following link http://www.icsharpcode.net/OpenSource/SD/
