Need to recompile when Upgrade from 2002 to 2004?

I have developed several application and has already shipped to some of my customer in oversea. Currently I'm using Mappoint 2002(MP2002). If my customer upgrade to Mappoint 2004(MP2004), do I need to send him a recompile exe file using MP2004? Or can the old exe file run under MP04 automatically? And one more issue, if my customer already have MP2004 but no MP2002, can my application still work on MP2004 even if the software is compile using MP2002?

You need to test it. It may work fine (normally it should work fine), but for one thing it depends on your code, if you instantiate MapPoint with the version # like MapPoint.NA.9 you would need to remove the version # or change to .11.

Thanks Eric, I am using the Mappoint 2002 OCX, does this mean I need to change the source code or select the new Mappoint 2004 OCX?
