Changing cost of a route segment

Wanted to know if it is possible to change the cost of a route segment. For example, lets say I got to know real time that a certain route segment is closed because of an accident. Can I increase the cost of the segment such that when a user requests a route from a source to a destination, that segment of the route is not included in the calculated route. Thanks.

Hi Sujal,

You can set up Avoidance Polygons, search in the help file. Basically you draw a polygon and then set a property so that any intersections included within the polygon are routed around..

Hi Eric,
Thank you for the suggestion. While your suggestion solves the example I had mentioned, I was looking at controlling how routes are generated at a more micro level. For example. there are other scenarios where I may want to increase the probability of including a route segment. Is this doable?

As you may know you can put a "stop" on a route segment, this will force the route to travel through that segment.
