Hi. I am looking to deploy mappoint for a utilities company to record the locations of street light outages. Ideally they would drive by with a tablet and use the gps locating function in mappoint, and use pushpins (this is the best method I've found so far) to record the location of the outage and then export the location of the pushpins to excel.

The above I've got working. I was just wondering if there was any way to export the location data from the pushpins automatically when they export it to excel. Like the longitude and latitude without them having to record is manually.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Lycan,

Yes - MapPoint has Latitude and Longitude properties for Location objects internally, it is straightforward to write an Excel VBA macro to export the Lat/Lon along with the other Pushpin information.

There are a lot of MapPoint programming examples on MP2Kmag.com and also in the MapForums Downloads section.

The Pushpin Tool also does this.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Used The Pushpin Tool and a Excel macro to achieve the desired results
