Hi,

I am a little desperate.
I am still looking for a simple programatic solution to avoid a highway around a city with the possibility to cross it.

Any other ideas, please?

Aurelia

For example see Paris Map: ( I don'nt want to include the highway around Paris in the calculated itineray because it's prohibited for the mobylettes )

I Use Mappoint 2004 with C++ or VB

Hi,

I had the same problem with ferries. I solved that by defining an area and prohibited that area. I think "avoiding" a street is not possible

Basically what it allows you to do is avoid Intersections.. so you cannot specify a road segment, it must be a point where two segments touch that is marked as Avoided.

This can be frustrating as you may want to allow someone to cross (travel perpendicularly over/under or across the road) just not actually on the road.

You should be able to selectively choose on/off ramps for a limited access highway to achieve this fairly precisely. For other roads you may be limited to avoiding every other intersection along a road. This would prevent travel along that road and still allow the route to cross at every other intersection.

hope this makes sense!

Thanks Eric, Rainer and Richard for your posts concerning this subject.

I think I solved my problem just by choosing Shortest Itinerary in Segment
preferences.

Thanks again
