I need to export the Lat & Long for the boundaries and coastline of the State of New Jersey, as well as several Counties in New York State. Is there a way to do this without typing the coordinates into pushpins then exporting them.

In other words, can i just place a pushpin on the map and export the coordinated of that push pin. Or is there any other way to export the boundaries of a state or county without typing then all out?

You could trace a line and then export the line coordinates to a mif/mid text file using this tool --

Short of that, you could put in Pushpins as you are saying and then use the Pushpin Tool to export the coordinates of the pushpins to Excel. Gilles Kohl also has a free unsupported tool on his web site that can accomplish the same writing to a text file.. see this newsletter --

I think I mentioned this in a wishlist somewhere on these boards. Surely, that data already exists within the MP application somewhere. I wound up doing the tracing thing and then exporting the co-ords to a homemade type of mif file. Now, at least for the shapes I need, I can import them back to a map as needed.

If someone ever gets the time, there's probably a decent market for a database of relevant shapes like zip code, county, state, etc. than can be used easily for mappoint data selection.
