Problem:
In ower Windows application, when we try to Place a Pushpin, the Pushpin is NOT displayed in the graphic Mappoint Map and we have the error message : Unrecovrable Error... !!!
This problem happend only by ower client, who work with: WinXP - SP 2 - Germain and Mappoint Vers 2004 - Germain. BUT the same application (with the same Mappoint - Version - Installation from the same CD) work fine on many other workstations with: WinXP - SP1 & SP2 - English and Mappoint Vers 2004 - Germain.

Please can you help us to solve this problem or to have any Mappoint-Support service ?

thanks

Hi,

Difficult to help if you tell us not what exacly you do

Do you display the pushpin programaticly ? If yes then show me some code
Do you display it by means of CSV file ? If yes you probably have a locale error
Do you do it other way ? Then please tell how...

Sorry this does not help mutch but really need to know something more..

Hi,
Thanks for your reply !
Inside a windows Logistic-application we draw the route of a Track-Tour on the map of the Mapppoint. It means that the application will display programaticly the pushpin on all Track-Stops of this route.

BUT even without ower application, directly with the Mappoint 2004 application, when we try to set some pushpin on the map manually, it don't work on the client-workstation with WinXP SP2 (German-Version)

Thanks

Hi,

So the problem seems to be something with mappoint itself ? I never tryed a network installation of mappoint, since every workstation has to have a licence, so I only tryed local. Can you try this first to get closer to the problem ?

Hi,

There is of course another possibility. If it does not work on one particular system, it can have something to do with regional settings or locales. Can you check if they all match exacly with a machine where the program is working fine on ?

Hi,
We need some information about the installation of the Mappoint 2004:
- Did Mappoint 2004 work o the Metaframe Server (Citrix) ?
- Is it better to install it on the server or separatly on any session (Performance problem !)
- Do you have some experience with Mappoint on Metafrme Server ? how is it the performance !
Even on WinXP- local installation, it works realy slownly ! (PC with Intel Processor 3 GHz and 500 MB Ram and 120GB harddisk !!!)
There is some tips or konfiguration that accelerate the Mappoint ?

Thanks

Someone reports that installing MDAC did not work for them but they had to unregister and register OLE via commands like this

regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\common files\system\ole db\oledb32.dll"
regsvr32 "c:\program files\common files\system\ole db\oledb32.dll"
