Making map of routes with arrowed lines? (like airline maps)

Wondering if anyone knows how MapPoint could be used to generate a map of arrowed lines to show movement from a departure city to an arrival city. The "look" should be similar to the airline route maps found in airline magazines.

I have the data (departure & arrival cities) in Excel or Access. So some level of automation via code may be best.

Can this be done? Has anyone seen it done?

Any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated!

If you look on the drawing toolbar, there's an arrow you can draw.

You can set the arrows, colours, and line thicknesses using the various options on the toolbar.

The lines are drawn as great circles, so they will have that curved look that airline route maps usually show.

These lines could be drawn automatically from a datafile, with a bit of programming.
