MapPoint 2004 API

Hi,

I've been looking for MapPoint 2004 API everywhere online, including msdn sites, and haven't had much luck...but I know it exists

Can someone please tell me where I can download this library package and also find the related documentation?

The API is included with the main MapPoint 2004 installation. In fact, it is a COM interface exposed by the application.
MapPoint 2006 is just being released this week. If you want MP2004 (rather than the more uptodate 2006), I bet the prices on EBay will see a significant drop over the next few weeks...

Documentation comes with MapPoint's help, but there's good coverage in the books: "MapPoint for Dummies" (MP2002 but still valid) and "Programming MapPoint in .Net" (covers all MapPoint-branded products).
