| | Jon332 05-04-2006, 07:28 PM Hey, guys. I need some help and advice.
Recently I got the idea of installing a GPS navigation system on my mobile phone, but the problem is that I do not know which one. Some of my firends are already using tomtom, but it is a bit expensive for me.
I found a cheap, actually still free, navigation software called nav4all. The only thing I am not sure about is the quality of this product. Before I install it i want to ask you if anyone has ever heard of it or used it before? Please give me some feedback, all opinions will be appreciated. Thanks Jon332 05-30-2006, 01:33 PM I try it and it works........thanks for the help though....... WonderMonkey 06-05-2006, 10:15 AM After you use it for a while how about writing an evaluation of it? I'd like to know more. Jon332 06-06-2006, 09:34 AM Hello,
I have a question about nav4all. Can I use in forest.
I know that some GPS have problems with such a use. Does some one try it? Jon332 06-06-2006, 09:38 AM I want to hear you opinion guys Wilfried 06-06-2006, 02:14 PM Hi,
GPS used frequency is very high and start to behave more and more the direction like light. If you are under trees, receiption will be very bad. Under the ground (celler, tunnel / water / ...) it is completely zero (except in american films :) )
So in a wood you will have bad reception, higher HDOP, many times no GPS at all etc. But it will be usable... Jon332 06-06-2006, 06:40 PM Hello,

I have another question as well. I know that I can use nav4all as a car navigation. Do you know for how long (on average) the battery of the phone last? Thanks Jon332 06-07-2006, 01:28 PM Hello,

Eric Wilfried 06-13-2006, 03:14 PM Hi Eric,
I think he is spamming (or drunk). Can you delete the subject ? WonderMonkey 06-13-2006, 03:38 PM And if drunk, can you find out with what and where I may get some? Wilfried 06-13-2006, 04:01 PM  Jon332 06-17-2006, 05:28 PM Hey,
a friend of mine told me that it doesn't work properly and that the sound is very bad. Is it truth? Eric Frost 06-17-2006, 11:26 PM Hi Jon,
Do a search on your previous posts, apparently you are already a very satisfied user and determined spammer of this forum, don't pretend you are not transparent :-)
Eric Allevier 12-07-2006, 12:14 AM I've been using nav4all for a little while now. I think it's a great program. It's not as graphical as tomtom. All you get is the next junction instructions. Because of this the battery lasts a lot longer due to less processing and rendering. Organman 03-16-2008, 11:26 PM I've used nav4All on several road trips now, and hours at a time. I have found it VERY accurate and useful. The only drawback so far is the lack of a sufficient help manual in the software or online. So you learn by trial-and-error. I love the spoken directions and the simple arrow navigation screens. I use it with the Keychain 2000 GPS puck. | |
