Problem instantiating MP Active X control in a VB and VC++

Hi... We are getting the following error when trying to instantiate the MP Active X control in either a VB or VC++ app:

"This method or property can only be set at run time, not when designing forms."

We used the ActiveX test container and instantiated the Microsoft Mappoint control. Using the Control->Invoke Methods menu item, we invoked the OpenMap method by passing the sales.ptm file present in the samples folder of the Mappoint install folder... but get the error above...

I do not understeand. If you call Openmap from a menutiem like this:

MP.OpenMap(openFileDialog.InitialDirectory + openFileDialog.FileName);

then the map opens. Can you shet more light on the problem you have?
