The format if this bitmap is not supported.

Hi,

I have created a bitmap file that contains a red dot, with a symbol in it, which I'd like to add to the Symbols list. But when I attempt to, I get an exception:

"The format if this bitmap is not supported. Bitmaps must be uncompressed and use 1,4, 8 or 24 bit color."

I created the image in VS 2003 and have set the preferences to Compressed=false and True Color. So I am perplexed about why this is not working. Has anybody got any idea about what I can do to get this working?

Have you tried a different color depth - eg. 256 colors? (=8 bits)
