Enfora GSM2218 Modem - Send Message to

Hi, I am using Mappoint with a vehicle tracking solution I developed. The Modem I use in the vehicle is an Enfora GSM2218. The modems work great but I am having troubles sending commands to them. I pre program them before they are installed and they deliver a RMC-Datasentence (RMC=recommended minimum sentence) it looks like "$GPRMC,191410,A,4735.5634,N,00739.3538,E,0.0,0.0,1 81102,0.4,E,A*19".
Does any one have expierence sending the AT command messages to this Modem. Perferably in VB using Winsock.

Hi- unfortunately I have not done this yet but did ask Enfora about this specifically ( I was thinking of sending multiple command sentences). Enfora said that we 'can send a command sentence via SMS' but only 1 sentence can be sent at a time.

We have yet to start experimenting with this so if you have had any luck please let me know as well.
