Hi,

I have data about millions of trip and I have IP on these data. Now, I want to develop a mobile application where users can see their trip routes on mobile. But, I have some constrain on these data. It MUST NOT leave from my lab (My server can not be connected to the Internet). So, anyone has any idea about whether MapPoint 2006 Desktop version supports all functionalities without connecting to the internet?

What product do you suggest based on these requirements?

Thanks,

I'm not sure I understand. Can the routes (data) be on the mobile devices ?

Also, the devices need to be laptops or at least running full Windows (2002 or XP) to run MapPoint 2006.

How would the server communicate without being on the internet, a secure line you would get from a carrier?

Thanks,
Eric

Hi,

There are several secure networks. MOBITEX not on the whole globe but large part. Coverage not in all countries. GPRS with GSM module with a secure one is alos possible. You need a leased line to the GSM provider. That for the high speed ones (I probably forget one or 2). Satellite connections is also possible but will be eahter slow or expencive. Also the tranceivers will become more expencive.
