The MS Access form that contains my Mappoint control will generate an error if I set the Popup property to true.

I want my form to take over the desktop for the largest display area.

Is there a workaround?

Hi,

Can you explain what exacly happens if this property is set to True ?
I assume that it then will popup with a certain trigger ?
Maybe it becaumes visible before the mappoint control is ready. In that case you can probably choose another trigger for the form to show ?

I tried to set the form property to "PopUP" in the property panel and when I open the form I get an error.

I thought the same thing that you, that I had to open the form first.
By the way, I had the same problem when adding the action DoCmd.Maximize in the forms On Open Property. It too generated an error.

So I delayed the maximize command until after the control was activated and the map displayed.

That fix won't work with the PopUp perameter though. After opening the map, I add Me.PopUp = true and when I run the code, I get an error saying that I cannot set the property to this value.

I would really like the map to cover as much of the display screen as possilbe.

Thanks for your interest.

Hi,

You did not tell me waht this property does (I know nothing about Access). Anyway following your explanation it opens the form and maximize it I think? Could be possible it works if you set it in the AfterRedraw event of the MP component because then the component should be ready for it.

I'll try that, thanks
