View Full Version : Eassy Show/Hide of Multiple Data Sets

I am a new user of MapPoint, but am very impressed with its ease of use.

I am creating a distribution map of a city with multiple sets of data:
1) # of units dropped off at each sales point in the city (sales volume)
2) # of pages of our ad space bought per year by each business in the city. (ad sales volume)
3) # of pages of competitor's ad space bought per year by each business in the city. (competition's ad sales volume)

We are using MapPoint to determine if we are properly distributed throughout the city.

I figured out how to display all three data sets on the same map using different symbols for each (green shaded, pushpins, small squares), but is there a way to toggle which data sets show up on the map? For example: Only showing the the points for our ad sales and the competitors ad sales.

The closest comparison I can make is the view/hide feature for layers in Adobe Photoshop. I would like to be able to view the datapoints as layers that can be shown or hid at the click of the mouse.

Thanks guys. It really seems like you've got this program down.

There are no layers for such thing. The best you can do is just load the data the user select in your custom (popup) menu option. To toggle just delete the dataset and import another one. If there are many data you can use ImportData() to improve speed.

Thanks Wilfried.

Can someone else confirm that this is good information?

There is no easy way to toggle between views of different data points on a map?
